What is a Quitline?
The ENQ Guide to Best Practice defines a Quitline as a service that offers telephone support for smoking cessation. This may involve giving:

- Advice
- Counselling
With the "convergence" of telephony technology with information and computer technologies, the definition of a Quitline and its services changing rapidly as new devices and communication protocols allow us to communicate with a smoker using SMS, MMS and multimedia channels.
